Warrington’s Bridgewater High’s U/14s became the Dynamic National Basketball champions following the finals day held last Sunday at the Nottingham Wildcats Arena.
A bus with parents, staff and pupils travelled over to Nottingham to cheer the team on.
After a tense semi-final where they out-pointed St Bonaventure’s School from London, they went on to beat the Weavers School from Wellingborough 100-48 in the final.
Team Manager Paul MacKay said:” I am so proud of the effort and commitment shown by the pupils. This has been a long competition and to come out top is a real credit to the pupils”.
Delme Herriman, Head Coach said “The pupils stuck with the system and the plays we have practised all year and the nature of the win shows their potential. This is a really talented team that will go far.” Joe Cummins was also named as Most Valuable Player of the competition.
