Liverpool have dismissed growing rumours in the Spanish media that has striker Luis Suarez joining Barcelona.
The move, described by one radio station as a “done deal”, suggests that Barcelona have triggered a £60 million release clause in the striker’s contract.
However, Liverpool insider’s dismissed the story’s as “media nonsense” and reiterated that Suarez has just signed a lucrative new contract.
There is also the fact that Barcelona have financial problems and are unlikely to be able to afford the mooted fee.
The speculation kicked off following Suarez’s comments in interviews after Uruguay’s 2-1 victory over England in the World Cup. In them he seemed to suggest that he disliked England, though the most reputable translations suggest he was referring to the English media.
