Sale Sharks director of rugby Steve Diamond is mulling bringing new names in to strengthen the squd.
“We’re running with two scrum-halves and two hookers,” Diamond said. “If we took knocks in those areas, we’d have to go into the market and we’ve got the resources to do that.”
Diamond’s side have made a decent start to the campaign, winning three of their seven league matches, but there remains a feeling that the club should be doing better. Speaking to the BBC Diamond said the team was in good shape and strong enough to challenge anyone, and last year’s dreadful start rather than showing the inherent weakness of the squad had been nothing more than a “blip”.
