Warrington council’s south neighbourhood team have again teamed up with Cheshire Police to host an event to help residents stay safe and secure at home.
Residents are invited to St John’s United Reform Church, Wilderspool Causeway on Wednesday 24 September, 12pm – 3pm. Here they can pick up tips and freebies about staying safe, how to avoid becoming a victim of crime and discover what activities are available locally.
Partners including Trading Standards, Home Watch, Cheshire Fire Service and Disability Partnership will be at the event to provide support and advice to residents.
Free window and shed locks, purse bells and fact sheets on how to avoid scams will also be available at the event which will be provided on a first come, first served basis.
The council’s executive board member for community, Coun. Kate Hannon said: “This is the third in a series of events to be held across south Warrington which aim to encourage residents to take some simple steps to reduce their risk of becoming a victim of crime. By providing simple information and advice, south Warrington will be a much safer and stronger community.”
